Having issues getting the modpack installed? Don't worry, here's a walkthrough on how to get started:
Step 1: Download Technics.
Technics is a Minecraft launcher. Nice thing about Technics is, if all goes well, when there's an update, you don't need to manually change any files or make any edits. It just does. Find your Operating System below:
Step 2: Install the Fossils and Archeology Modpack
Once Technics is installed, it'll start up a launcher where you can search for "Modpacks". Look for the Fossils and Archaeology Modpack. It'll take a while for the Modpack to download initially. We have over 35 custom mods, so it takes a while to get everything squared away. Go get some popcorn, use the restroom, do some pushups. This can take a bit.
Modpack 0.9 release (Jan 22, 2017) Two new mods added:
+Atum: Journey into the Sands http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1288464-atum-journey-into-the-sands Adds a new dimension to the world. Keep Inventory is OFF for Atum, so BE CAREFUL! There are some really good loot, but also lots of dangers in this new area.
Finally figured out why Modpack was opening in Vanilla - Technics wasn't loading Forge for some people. It looks like there could still be some streamlining that needs to be done, but I'm releasing it under 0.8 because it's stable.
Modpack 0.7b release (11/30/16)
Filing structure for 0.7a release was incorrect. The modpack zip structure should have been: "Modpack.zip>Mods>[files]". Instead, it was "Modpack.zip>[files]", causing Minecraft to not recognize the mod folder and thus start the game in Vanilla mode.
Modpack 0.7a release (11/29/16)
Technics Modpack 0.7a was updated on 11/29/16 to address the issues found on the Modpack 0.7 release. Several key files were missing on the 0.7 update (lawnmower, fossils7.3.2, Llibrary, etc) which prevented players from successfully logging in to the server. 0.7a should address the inability to log in.
